AN OLYMPIC gold medallist, a star of hit comedy The Office and a former Big Brother contestant are among the celebrities throwing their weight behind a unique fundraising event.
Ealing resident Chloe Haywood is organising The Wig Gig, a Generation Game style show that gives the audience the chance of exciting prizes while wearing a wig, in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support.
She has managed to rope in Olympic gold medal winning rower James Cracknell, Ewen Macintosh who played Keith in The Office and Big Brother Six contestant and famous wig wearer Makosi.
Prizes on the night include a Trevor Sorbie haircut done by the man himself, a £200 Vivienne Westwood jumper and a football boot signed by Barcelona and Argentina's Lionel Messi.
Chloe, 32, from Woodville Gardens in Ealing, said: "I wanted to organise a charity event that was not just a quiz in a pub.
"The idea is that contestants from the audience take part in a series of games for prizes and at the end of the night they are judged on their wigs. There will also be raffles and auctions for the other prizes."
Chloe, sales manager for Bruno Triplet, a textiles designer, lost her dad to cancer five years ago.
She said: "He started getting really ill, to the point where he could not even get off the sofa and when he was rushed to hospital they told us he had a brain tumour.
"The Macmillan nurses came in a lot while he was having treatment and they were always on call, they were like our guardian angels."
There are 200 tickets for the event at Chiswick Town Hall on Friday, October 5, and are available by calling 07902 228 0646 or by emailing info@thewiggig.co.uk and the first 50 will receive free goody bags.
