LONDON North West University Healthcare has won the Trust of the Year Award at the annual GG2 Leadership and Diversity Awards.
It was for its work championing diversity and encouraging an inclusive working environment.
Judges praised the trust’s positive approach to tackling racism, with publication of an anti-racism action plan, encouraging greater diversity on its board as well as being the first trust to undertake an external review of its race workforce standards.
Rishi Sunak was the keynote speaker at the ceremony in London, which recognises and celebrates diversity across organisations and the “incredible contribution of South Asian people to our economy and our society”.
CEO Pippa Nightingale said: “One of the things that attracted me to come and work here was the diversity of our communities and workforce.
“It was a lovely surprise to pick up the award but much work remains to be done.”
