FORMER Greenford teacher-turned-actor John Griffiths brings his one-man show of backstage reminiscences to The Questors Theatre in Mattock Lane, Ealing, for one night this Sunday (February 1).
Griffiths moved from his home town of Swansea to London in 1970 and took up a teaching post at Stanhope School.
He joined The Questors in 1974 and has been a member ever since.
In 1977, the smell of the greasepaint and the roar of the crowd proved irresistible and he took up acting full time. That was when he had to change his surname to Griffiths, because there was already a John Francis in Equity.
He returns to the Questors to reminisce about the old days and to share the wealth of hair-raising, nail-biting, pant-wetting, side-splitting, heart-rending and life-enhancing experiences he has had in a career that includes two plays at The National Theatre, eight West End shows, 14 pantomimes and five Shakespeare tours.
Forty Years Gone is in the Studio at The Questors Theatre. Tickets £6.50. Buy online from www.ealingtheatre.com or phone the box office on 020 8567 5184.
