A PROMISING Ealing actor-producer will be bringing a new romantic comedy to the Barons Court Theatre for three weeks in June (2-21).
Before that, 2 Complicated is on a small-scale tour of the South-East, including the Brighton Fringe. Audience responses have so far been heartening, according to Matt Lim.
2 Complicated by Daniel Henry Kaes addresses dating and long-distance relationships, specifically in this age of social networking.
Lim plays the lead role of Daniel, the writer's alter ego. The show is as much about the process of writing as it is about the relationships within the story.
The show is an updating of traditional romantic comedy and sitcom for a new generation, while simultaneously poking fun at these genres.
Lim is originally from the West Midlands but has been living in Ealing for almost two years, having graduated from Cambridge in 2012 with a degree in modern and medieval languages.
He is a founding member of Punchline Theatre, dedicated to producing new and exciting comedy and theatre.
Its musical Jack & I: The Jack the Ripper Musical at last year's Fringe gained a host of four- and five-star reviews and award nominations.
2 Complicated is at the Barons Court Theatre, June 2-21 (no performances on the 8th or 17th) at 7.45pm (Sundays 6.45) and lasts for 75 minutes.
