POLICE in Ealing are appealing for witnesses to an assault where a man was hit on the head with a cricket bat.
On Saturday, April 11, a 21-year-old man went to Southall for the Vaisakhi celebrations, taking place on the Broadway.
Around 3.15pm, he decided to walk home through the park, passing a group of men playing cricket.
As he passed, he was hit on the head from behind with a bat. He fell to the floor and was left unconscious for a period of around 10-15 seconds.
Officers were flagged down by members of the public, alerting them to the incident.
An ambulance crew was called and the man was taken to hospital, where he was treated for a blood clot on the brain. He has since been discharged.
No arrests have yet been made.
Det Con Jaspal Bains, said: "The area was very busy that day, due to the Vaisakhi celebrations, and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw this assault to contact me."
