A MAN charged with battering his gay lover to death with a fire extinguisher in a hotel room at a motorway service station has been remanded in custody.
Glenn Rycroft, 30, from Holywell in north Wales, appeared at Feltham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 18, charged with the murder of Gareth MacDonald, also 30, at Travelodge, at Heston Services on the west-bound M4.
His body was found by a member of hotel staff on Saturday, September 15, at around 7am, and a post mortem revealed Mr Macdonald had been battered to death with an extinguisher.
Mr Macdonald had left his wife and three children earlier this year to live with Rycroft in a small village in north Wales.
Rycroft was remanded in custody to appear at the old Bailey on January 2, next year.
