ALMOST 300 borough schoolchildren visited Ealing Broadway to take part in a series of interactive events designed to encourage reading for enjoyment.
Children from St John's Primary School, West Acton Primary and Oaklands Primary enjoyed story-telling sessions, quizzes and tours with staff from the shopping centre, Waterstones, Ealing Library, Decathlon and Explore Learning.
Every child also went away with a book, while British Land, owners of Ealing Broadway, provided each school with £100 of vouchers.
The event was part of the Young Readers Programme, an initiative by the National Literacy Trust in partnership with British Land.
