CONSTRUCTION is well under way at the new Hilton London Park Royal Hotel - and last week it was topped out.
The final ‘beam’ was put in place at a ceremony attended by Starboard Hotels, builders RGB Group and Ealing Council.
The 162-bedroom hotel, costing £26m, incorporates a listed facade and has views of Wembley Stadium to the north and The Shard to the east.
Paul Callingham, executive chairman of Starboard, said: "[It] is our 21st hotel and will open in March. It will be the first Hilton hotel for Starboard and the first for our company in the capital.”
Topping-out ceremonies are a builders' rite, traditionally held when the last beam or, in the case of Starboard Hotels, the final mix of mortar and concrete is placed on top.
Located alongside the Oxford-bound side of the A40, the hotel is close to Park Royal and Hanger Lane stations.
