THE 33rd Ealing Blues Festival, one of the longest-running in Europe, is back in business after its COVID-enforced year off.
The festival took place over two Saturdays on July 31 and August 7 in Walpole Park, Ealing.
Founder and artistic director Robert Hokum said: “Despite the occasional rain shower, people came, proving just how much [it] is appreciated by live music fans.
“The ages of the performers spanned more than 50 years. It just shows how 'inter-generational' this music is.”
Performers included UFO Steelband, Boondock Hippy, Big Joe Louis and Catfish.
Ealing has been the spiritual home of British blues and R&B music since 1962 when Alexis Korner and Cyril Davies launched the UK’s first regular blues night at the Ealing Club opposite Ealing Broadway Station.
The festival started in 1987 and has since grown to become one of the biggest of its kind, its three stages attracting audiences of over 10,000 people.
The 2022 festival is expected to take place over the weekend of July 21-23.
