FOUR fire engines and around 25 crew were called to a blaze at a flat above a shop in Northfield Avenue, West Ealing, last night (20).
Part of the first floor of the six-room flat was damaged. Firefighters rescued a woman from a second-floor roof using a ladder. Two further men left the building before the brigade arrived.
They were all treated on scene by ambulance staff.
The fire was discovered by a resident who could smell burning and raised the alarm.
The brigade was called at 10.47pm and the fire was under control by 11.45. Crews from Ealing, Acton and Southall attended.
The fire is believed to have been accidental, but the exact cause is not yet known.
