FOUR fire engines and around 25 crew were called to a blaze at a residential care home in Gunnersbury Lane, Acton, in the early hours of this morning (2).
A small part of a water storage heater in a boiler room on the second floor was damaged.
Around 30 people were evacuated by staff before the brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
A brigade spokesperson said crews used thermal imaging cameras to locate the fire after noticing a strong smell of burning.
They were called at 2.20 and the fire was under control by 3.26. Crews from Acton, Chiswick, Ealing and Park Royal attended.
An electrical fault in a water heater tank is believed to have started the fire.
