Gaelle Hermet is purring at the prospect of a final day showdown with England.

The French skipper, 25, leads her team into TikTok Women’s Six Nations battle off the back of an all-conquering autumn after sinking reigning world champions New Zealand twice in quick succession.

Les Bleues slipped to a gutting 10-6 defeat against the Red Roses in last year’s final and will welcome the three-time defending champions to Bayonne in Round 5.

The two heavyweights have racked up all six titles since 2016 – England four, France two – and Hermet can’t wait to exchange blows on home Basque Country soil once again.

The Toulouse back-row ace said: “England are one of our biggest rivals as in the past, we have lost a lot of games against them.

“It’s the last match of the Championship for us and it will be played in France.

“It’s a match which is highly anticipated because it’s in proper rugby territory in the Basque Country – right in the south-west of France.

“There will be a lot of people there, the atmosphere will be so loud. As with all England versus France clashes, it will be an intense affair.

“It’s made even bigger as it is possibly the decisive match for the Championship this year - and that will create a lot of adrenaline amongst the supporters and also for us as players.”

This year’s TikTok Women’s Six Nations stands to be the most accessible in the Championship’s history.

Spanning 136 countries, and available on terrestrial and streaming platforms, the Women’s Championship has never had such comprehensive broadcast coverage.

Not to mention Title Partner TikTok reaching fans via its entertainment platform with exclusive W6N content. In what is a huge year of Women’s rugby, the TikTok Women’s Six Nations, which once again has its own window in the international rugby calendar, is set up reach more fans than ever before.

France last grabbed glory back in 2018 as a nerve-jangling 18-17 win over England helped fire them to the Grand Slam.

But the bragging rights have firmly gone England’s way ever since as Simon Middleton’s side completed clean sweeps in 2019 and 2020.

Last year’s adapted format led to more French heartbreak at the Twickenham Stoop but a resurgent autumn means Hermet’s side arrive at this year’s showpiece in red-hot form.

And ahead of Sunday’s showdown with Italy at the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble, the captain added: “It’s all about continuity after November and those two wins against the Black Ferns.

“Every match we play we want to play good rugby - we want to go and win the Six Nations.”
