A NEW housing project in Ealing is set to save the borough millions and provide affordable housing for 44 families.
Perryn House on the Western Avenue at Acton is being sold by Transport for London.
In Ealing, the waiting list for a home is now 2,295, and around 100 further households approach the council each month.
The project by developer QED will comprise two- and three-bedroom family homes, with plans to create a ‘statement building’ along the Western Avenue.
Ross Gilbert, managing director of QED, explained: “We will be acquiring this land through the Greater London Authority Small Sites scheme, which helps to make publicly-owned sites available to small developers.
“This has allowed us to play our role in building the homes that London needs and creating cost savings for Ealing Council.”
QED submitted its planning application last week.
