TWO Harefield Hospital nurses have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to the profession.

Adwoa Asamoah and Veronica Rapezzi are among the winners of this year’s Rising Star Awards, part of the Royal College of Nursing London’s celebrations for Black History Month.

Veronica, a senior staff nurse in the intensive therapy unit at Harefield, has carried out a huge amount of work around diversity and inclusion.

Veronica, from Northfields, Ealing, said: “I deeply value the fact I was nominated as it gives me the opportunity to highlight the need for more ‘diversity champions’ to promote positive changes.”

Adwoa, a deputy sister in the cath labs at Harefield, organises monthly reflective sessions to support staff wellbeing. She also oversees infection prevention and control and hand hygiene.
