DRIVERS are urgently needed to keep Ealing Community Transport, a charity providing door-to-door journeys for residents, running smoothly.
Its services enable people with mobility difficulties or those who can’t easily use public transport – young or old – to live a more independent life.
ECT is often the only way in which vulnerable and socially isolated people can get out and about.
The charity needs paid recruits to join its team on services such as PlusBus, PlusBus for Health, Dial-a-Ride, SEND (special educational needs or disability) school transport and to help train new drivers.
It has flexible shifts that can be full-time, part-time, casual or just at weekends at between £10 and £11.39 per hour.
No previous experience is required and training is provided.

Trevor King, a former sales consultant turned ECT driver, said: “I love meeting people, and knowing that what I am doing is making a difference to people’s lives.
“It’s not just about providing the transport, it’s about what you are giving back to the community.”
