THE man to lead the regeneration of Old Oak and Park Royal has been named.
Gareth Blacker will be responsible for plans to provide 25,000 new and affordable homes and 56,000 new jobs.
Key to this will be working with Whitehall to co-ordinate London’s largest brownfield site, Old Oak West, into an urban district, with HS2’s Old Oak Common station at its heart.
Gareth joins Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation from Homes England, working on regeneration schemes including Bristol Temple Meads and Silvertown Quays.
A chartered surveyor with more than 25 years’ experience, he led major projects including the 2012 Olympics master plan, Wembley Park and London’s Royal Docks.
