PETITIONS by residents and pressure from some councillors have been rewarded by a promise from Ealing Council to fix pothole issues across the borough’s roads.
Opposition Liberal Democrats had accused the Labour-run authority of allowing roads to decay and deteriorate.
Among the roads to be repaired are Popes Lane and Lillian Avenue at Ealing Common, Winscombe Crescent and Moyne Place at Hanger Hill, as well as South Parade and Fletcher Road in Southfield.
A report by the Asphalt Industry Alliance shows the number of potholes filled in England and Wales has fallen by 16 per cent in two years.
Cllr Gary Malcolm, leader of the Lib-Dem opposition, said: “We urge other residents to report their concerns to us so we can take up their cause to get improvements made to other streets in the borough.”
