PARA swimming gold medallist Alice Tai, from Ealing, is setting out to train five people with varying abilities to tackle the Channel in a swim relay.
The Channel More project wants them to undergo a five-month open-water training programme, ready to take on the relay between September 20 and 28, weather permitting.
Applications to join the team opened this week and close on April 30.
The initiative is driven by performance nutrition brand Optimum Nutrition and will be led by one of Britain’s most inspiring athletes, Paralympic, World, Commonwealth and European para gold medallist, Alice Tai MBE.
The chosen applicants will undergo a five-month transformation to become accomplished open-water swimmers ready to take on the 21-mile crossing of the English Channel.
Alice said: “As someone who firmly believes in pushing oneself beyond perceived limits, I am convinced that anything is achievable with the right mindset, coaching and nutrition.”
Applicants need to submit a 90-second video, explaining why they want to be part of the experience!. Details on www.optimumnutrition.com/en-gb/channelmore
