PLANS for a new W4 Youth and Community Centre in Southfield Recreation Ground has moved a step closer with a partnership agreement between W4 Youth and Rocks Lane Sports Trust.
Sally Chacatté, W4 Youth founder and chair, said: “Rocks Lane has always been very close to our hearts as it’s where our son found much solace in his teenage years.”
Chris Warren, MD of Rocks Lane, said: “I’m excited to expand our work together and to create [a] centre and associated community facilities for people, especially younger members of our community.
“I have very fond memories of regularly playing sport at my youth club in Yorkshire.”
The new partnership has been invited to join the Ealing Consortium for the Football Foundation PlayZones project.
A number of parks in Ealing borough will receive Football Foundation money to renovate or build a PlayZone.
Southfield Recreation Ground has been identified as a park where people play basketball and five-a-side football and to potentially build a new PlayZone.
The new partnership, alongside Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, will be hosting a Community Fun Event from noon on Saturday, September 30, to answer any questions on plans for Southfield Rec.
