TWENTY fire engines and around 125 firefighters tackled a fire at an industrial estate in Walmgate Road, Perivale on Christmas Day.
Most of the ground floors of nearby single-storey warehouses caught alight.
Station Commander Chloe Van Dop, who was at the scene, said the blaze produced heavy smoke, which was carried by the wind. Neighbours were urged to keep windows and doors closed.
Firefighters used turntable ladders as water towers.
Control officers took more than 40 calls about the blaze.
The brigade was called at 12.35pm and the fire was under control by 7.52. Crews from Wembley, Northolt, Ealing, Park Royal and surrounding fire stations attended.
The cause is not yet known.
