Londoners feared the end of the world was nigh last night as a 'UFO' loomed menacingly over the city skyline.
Bright lights hovered over Canary Wharf’s skyscrapers with workers believing they may have stumbled out of the office and into a scene from War of the Worlds.
The 'spaceship', created by 552 drones, took specialist company Celestial over 650 hours to design and worried bystanders taking to social media.
One tweeted: "Genuinely might be an alien invasion in London tonight??!!"

Another added: "Close encounters of the London kind! Spaceship in London this eve - call the Men In Black!"
However, the spectacle was an elaborate stunt by Samsung to celebrate the launch of its new Galaxy S24 devices that use advanced mobile AI technology with ‘Galaxy AI is here’ magically arranged in the night sky.
"We brought the stars, solar system and universe closer than ever before to the British public to demonstrate the infinite possibilities as we look to embark on a new journey with Galaxy AI," said Samsung's Annika Bizon.
“To celebrate the launch of the Samsung S24 series, we wanted to capture the wonder and amazement of this new age of smartphone by creating a spectacular drone show that would gaze beyond our planet and into the galaxy."
