Year Six pupils were studying the circulatory system, so what better guests than a panel of speakers from Heartlink?
The Ealing-based charity provides advice and support to people living with heart conditions, especially those undergoing or recovering from hospital treatment?
Bernard Diamant, Heartlink volunteer, said: “We had a lively Q&A session and were surprised just how much the pupils knew.”
Many of the children told the panel about family members who suffer from heart problems and were already aware of the risks of lack of exercise, smoking and vaping.
North West London has one of the highest rates of heart disease in the UK, with 32,000 people living with heart and circulatory diseases in Ealing.
