SHIRAZ, the much-loved barn owl which went missing following a break-in at the Gunnersbury Park campus of Capel Manor College, has been found safe and well.
The bird was found in a warehouse near Heathrow Airport and staff contacted the Capel Manor emergency number. Shiraz was identified by a blue ring on her left ankle with an ID number.
A member of the animal management team retrieved Shiraz last Thursday (7). While she had lost weight, she was not injured.
Meg Wilson, animal collections manager, said: "It was such a relief to find Shiraz safe and well. She is currently being cared for at our Enfield Campus, before returning to her home at Gunnersbury Park.”
You can meet Shiraz at an open day on Saturday, March 23. Register at https://www.capel.ac.uk/open-days/open-day-23-march-2024-registration/
