FOOTBALL has been added to the sports programme at the independent St Benedict’s School, Ealing, with Daniel Matsuzaka appointed as the first head of department.
Mr Matsuzaka, who starts in September, brings hands-on experience teaching and playing football at a professional level for several National League clubs including Southend United, Weymouth and Oxford City.
He has also played for Japan U19s and is currently with Hendon FC while working as a PE teacher at Durston House School.
Headmaster Joe Smith said: “The interview panel were unanimous in our selection of Daniel as our preferred candidate.
“He impressed hugely in his practical session, and at interview presented a compelling and exciting vision for the development of football at St Benedict's over the next few years.”
