FLOYD Steadman OBE, who has just been appointed as one of five new Deputy Lieutenants for Cornwall, has strong ties to Ealing.
For many years, he was executive head at Clifton Lodge School and serves as a governor at St Augustine’s Priory, the Catholic independent day school for girls.
His rugby career included captaining Saracens and Middlesex, while he also played for the Barbarians.
He was made an OBE in the King’s first New Year’s Honours in 2023, for services to rugby, education and charity.
This new honour includes supporting the Lord Lieutenant in Cornwall and sometimes deputising for him. Lord Lieutenants are representatives of the King for each county in the UK.
A spokesperson for St Augustine’s Priory said: "Floyd Steadman is an incredible man, bringing enthusiasm, knowledge and a deep integrity to everything in which he is involved.”
