A NEW role, aimed at encouraging more council transparency, has been created by the opposition Liberal Democrats in Ealing.
Cllr Gary Busuttil will fill the role as part of his position managing finance. His title will be Opposition Spokesperson for Finance and Council Honesty.
A spokesman said: “Over the last two years, since the Liberal Democrats became the Official Opposition, we have uncovered a lot of waste, untruths and inefficiencies.
“It includes more than £3m wasted on redeveloping the town hall into a hotel and losing £65,000 of IT equipment in six months.”
