EALING Library of Things will be opening at Ealing Broadway shopping centre on Tuesday, June 11, offering household, DIY and gardening items for residents to hire.
The social enterprise helps people save money and reduce waste by affordably renting out useful items like drills, sound systems and sewing machines.
It also helps people share practical skills like DIY and repair with others in their neighbourhood.
Library of Things was founded by Emma Shaw, Rebecca Trevalyan and Sophia Wyatt in 2016, inspired by similar projects in cities like Berlin and Toronto.
It is now in 17 locations across London and more than 18,000 people have hired 30,000 items.
Residents can be one of the first to try Library of Things on https://libraryofthings.co.uk/ealing.
Rebecca Trevalyan, co-founder and co-director, said: “We’ve had lots of interest from Ealing residents and organisations.
“We’re excited they’ll soon be able to borrow quality items like Bosch drills, Kärcher pressure washers and STIHL hedge trimmers for a few pounds per day.”
