CONTRACTS have been exchanged on a planned estate of 220 affordable homes in Northolt.

Half will be for social rent and 110 for shared ownership along with the conversion of the listed Smiths Farmhouse and barns to provide a cafe and commercial space.

The brownfield site in Kensington Road will be transformed by Howarth Contractors into of a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments for Sovereign Network Group.

These will be in seven buildings of between four and seven storeys high alongside new community and green spaces.

There will be substantial tree planting connecting the estate to nearby Northala Fields and Marnham Fields open spaces.

Work is set to start this year with completion likely in Spring 2028.
