EALING Hospital is appealing for walking aids to be returned.
The hospital trust spends more than £40,000 a year on replacements, which are often gathering dust in people’s homes, with the national bill totalling £14m.
NHS England says greater awareness would not only save the NHS money but also improve its green footprint by helping reduce carbon emissions.
Any walking sticks and frames should be returned to the hospital’s physiotherapy department.
