One of the most hotly anticipated head-to-heads of the Olympics comes to the fore on day 11 as Josh Kerr does battle with Jakob Ingebrigtsen over 1500m.

The men’s four-lap final is the feature of the evening session and is set to provide the latest chapter in a battle between the two runners who are not shy of trading blows.

Kerr came out on top in a thrilling World Championship final in Budapest last summer but the Norwegian insisted he would have won if he wasn’t ill, describing Kerr as ‘just the next guy’.

The Scot hit back by claiming Ingebrigtsen, who won gold in Tokyo, “has some flaws in the manners realm” and “major weaknesses”, but ultimately both will want to do their talking on the track.

George Mills, son of former England right-back Danny, won the UK title to seal his spot and Neil Gourley completes the British trio competing over the distance.

Another packed night of action on the track also includes the women’s 200m final, with Shericka Jackson looking to add Olympic gold to her collection having won the last two World Championship finals over the distance.

She will face competition from Sha’Carri Richardson, while Dina Asher-Smith, Daryll Neita and Bianca Williams will hope to challenge from a British perspective.

Team GB's youngest-ever medallist Sky Brown will be back in action chasing her second Olympic medal at just 16 years-old in the skatepark.

The 2023 world champion tore her MCL earlier this year but was still able to qualify for her second Games. 

She will once again go up against the reigning Olympic champion Sakura Yosozumi and silver medallist Kokona Hiraki in the women's park final after an incredible few years at the top of her game.

The velodrome will see the men's team sprint final as the only medal chance of the day as sprinting sensation Harrie Lavreysen leads out the world record holders from the Netherlands.

Jack Carlin, Jason Kenny and Ryan Owens took silver behind the Dutch at Tokyo 2020 but with just Carlin still in action, the two-time Olympic medallist will instead be joined in Paris by Ed Lowe and Hamish Turnbull.

Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix is set to dazzle in the women's 10m platform final as she looks to take her maiden Olympic individual medal.

It will be a tough ask for the 19-year-old, the daughter of First Dates star Fred Sirieix, with fellow teenager and defending Olympic champion Quan Hongchan of China dominating the world scene in recent years.

The 17-year-old has been unshakeable alongside her teammate Chen Yuxi in the years since Tokyo. The two have taken home every individual 10m platform world championship gold and silver in the past three years.

Star of the day: Shericka Jackson is the second-fastest female 200m runner of all time and recently achieved the mean feat of doubling up across the 100m and 200m at the Jamaican Olympic Trials. The last World Championships saw her cruise home in 21.41s, a Championship and Jamaican record.

Best Brit: There are no shortage of contenders but it is hard to look past Sky Brown in the skatepark. But equestrian fans will remember the success of Ben Maher at Tokyo 2020 and turn their eyes to the show jumping arena as Maher looks to defend his individual crown in Paris.
