THE first phase of a public consultation on plans to create a new, sustainable town centre in the heart of Park Royal will be launched next Friday (4).

The site, at 2-20 Western Road, is currently home to the Asda superstore and its car park.

The project, in partnership with Barratt London, includes around 1,500 new homes, with a target of 35% affordable housing.

There will be additional commercial and community space, as well as a new, similar-sized flagship Asda superstore with car park.

The proposal is for the current Asda to remain open during construction, with the addition of a temporary petrol station.

Once work is complete, Asda will fit out the new store and its team will move across.

A number of community events will be held in October at which people can find out more. These include:

  • Pop-up events on Friday and Saturday, October 4-5 from 12-4pm outside the entrance to ASDA at 2-20 Western Rd.
  • A Community Day on Saturday, October 12, from 12-4pm with family-friendly activities including free pizza from 1-3pm. Again, this will take place outside the entrance to ASDA.

This first phase of consultation will close on Thursday, October 31. If you are unable to attend these events, information is available on the website: www.asdaparkroyal.com
