TEN fire engines and around 70 crew tackled a warehouse blaze in Norwood Road, Southall, this morning (9).
Half of the first floor of the two-storey building and the roof were damaged.
Ten people were evacuated by firefighters, but there were no reports of any injuries.
Neighbours were advised to keep their windows and doors closed due to smoke in the area.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Some road closures remain in place and we advise drivers to avoid the Norwood Road area due to heavy traffic.
"The fire has been extinguished but firefighters are expected to remain on scene for much of the day putting out hot spots."
Control officers received nearly 40 calls about the fire.
They were first called at 6.50am and mobilised crews from Southall, Heston, Hayes and surrounding fire stations.
A turntable ladder was also used at as an observation tower.
The fire was under control by 8.51 and the cause is being investigated.
