EALING charity the Znaniye Foundation is one of 281 groups to receive the King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
The charity is dedicated to empowering young people and building community connections.
Beneficiaries are children, young people and families from BAME communities, living in socially-deprived areas of London, specifically Ealing
The King’s Award aims to recognise outstanding work by volunteer groups. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the late Queen’s Golden Jubilee.
Other recipients this year include a group preserving a 12th Century castle in south Wales and volunteers providing English lessons for refugees in Stirling.
A party from the Znaniye Foundation will receive the crystal award and certificate from Sir Kenneth Olisa, Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London.
Two volunteers from the Foundation will also attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace in May and June next year.
