RESIDENTS have been contacting Ealing Liberal Democrat councillors about the build-up of fallen leaves in their roads.
The accompanying photo shows a few examples.
Now, the Lib Dems have a petition calling on the council to clear leaves and reduce the chance of slips, falls and injuries. You can sign here:

A Lib Dem spokesman said: “The borough of Ealing was once considered the Queen of the Suburbs with its green parks, manicured open spaces and its cleanly-swept streets.
“If you walk around Ealing them today, you would need to do so gingerly as they are strewn with uncollected leaves and rubbish.
“In addition, Ealing Labour is reducing green garden waste bag collections by reducing service months from 12 months to nine, which is not reflected in the fee collection.”
Cllr Athena Zissimos, spokesperson on Environment, Streets, Parks and Climate Change, said: “Gardeners would help the cleaning, by adding street leaves to their green bags. I certainly did.”
She said drain could become clogged up, resulting in flooding, while there was increased risk of injury due to slippery pavements.”
