DRAMATIC footage of a massive fire at a block of flats in Greenford last night has been sent in by readers.
The images show flames licking out of the bedroom window of a flat on the third floor of Thurlestone Court in Howard Road, on the Golf Links Estate, just after 7.30pm.
The blaze then spreads to the roof, and within seconds the whole of the structure is alight. Other pictures show dozens of residents from nearby blocks watching on in horror as the fire brigade struggles to get the fire under control.
Families evacuated from Thurlestone Court last night face a second night away from their homes, as officials assess the damage.
Eleven families are being put up in bed and breakfast accommodation by Ealing Council, while others stay with friends and family.
However, the council expects this number to rise the longer families are displaced.
Officials from the council and Ealing Homes have held a series of meetings with residents today, and have handed out £30 per family in spending money, as many were forced to flee the building before they could pick up their wallets.
A leaflet with contact numbers on has been given to residents on the estate, and housing officers from Ealing Homes will be based at the Links Centre in Fleming Road every day for the rest of the week for people to talk to.
