“It is thanks to Questors Theatre that I became an actor”
Rahul Nath trained at Judi Dench’s “Questor Theatre” from Sep 2005 to Sep 2007 and now recently has signed a new TV show in Hollywood which will air in Jan 2009. He talks about how Questors has helped both his stage and Film/TV career, and how training is an essential part of an actors career “I remember when I went I got my audition date at Questors Theatre and at that time I did not know much about the theatre. All I knew that it was located in Ealing and Judi Dench was the president. So when I went for my audition, I was extremely prepared, as I imagined the standard would be high.”
“At the audition, I played out my pieces and the admissions offered me a place there and then. I couldn’t believe it. The two years that followed gave me immense confidence and strength as an actor and got me to a level where I never thought I would get to. In the time I was at Questors, I managed to play amazing characters and was blessed to have very prominent roles in the productions, I was involved in.” “There is no doubt that Questors helped me become the actor that I am now. Since leaving the theatre group, I have moved to Los Angeles, where I have signed a TV show that will air in Jan 2009.” “My character in the show is someone I can identify in an instant. When I auditioned for the role, the casting had told me that I had nailed the audition, but I didn’t want to say anything until I had received the confirmation. Two days later I got the call, that I have the part. The first thing I did was tell my acting coach at Stella Adler-Ron Burrus, who was so happy for me and pleased that his teaching had paid off.”
“I have always believed that training is a never ending process. Even while I was at Questors Theatre, I was still shooting movie features and rehearsing for theatre productions. You can never get enough training, there is always something that will help you, in future projects that you sign. Which is why I decided to train at Stella Adler in Los Angeles, to refine my acting instrument and sharpen my skills, and that surely has paid off with the TV show!”
The After Lyfes is set to release in the USA in Jan 2009, where Rahul Nath will play the role of Faagh Jabbar
