The North Primary School in Southall is celebrating bumper proceeds from this year’s annual summer fair.
It has just finished totting up the proceeds from the event, held last month, and they amount to a hefty £7,000 which will go into the school’s funds.
The fair at the school in Meadow Road, featured displays from local bands and singers, face painting, and even a ‘dunk the teacher’ attraction, which proved particularly popular with pupils.
Prabhjot Rajasansir, operations manager at the local LPC bakery, is also on the North School Committee Association, and he was able to arrange a supply of bread rolls for the barbecue on the day, which attracted 1,170 people.
“In these times of busy lives and the reported doom and gloom of the credit crunch, it’s heartening to know that good old fashioned family fun can still bring so many people together and reinforce the true value of the community,” said Mr Rajasansir, whose children Munjot, nine, and Harjot, five, attend the school.
