THE deadline for the Angel Cakes for Autism competition has been extended to mid-January to give people more time to bake their best creations for the charity.
Angel Cakes for Autism has seen the Ealing Times team up with The National Autistic Society, to raise £20,000 to help build a new education catering kitchen at the Sybil Elgar School in Ealing. The kitchen will allow six pupils at a time to attend cookery and basic domestic skills classes. They will also have the opportunity to undertake an NVQ in catering and hospitality.
Many students benefit from working with food, which can often increase confidence and bring a release from the stresses caused by their autism, as well as providing potential career opportunities.
You can enter individually or as group, and those selected for round two will be asked to re-bake their cake for the grand final.
