MORE than eight out of ten young people in Ealing think the adults in their house should be recycling more.
The results from a survey of 11-18 year olds published by Recycle for London, showed even though well over half the young people surveyed acknowledged their household always recycles, 83 per cent still thought their parents should recycle even more of their daily rubbish.
John Delaney, Ealing Council's cabinet member for streets and the environment, said: "Young people's enthusiasm for protecting the environment means they're great at encouraging their parents to recycle.
"Residents can recycle all sorts of materials such as glass, paper and cans including glass sauce jars, pet food tins and junk mail, textiles, shoes and batteries so households can now recycle more than they think."
Joshua Oberman, a pupil at Twyford Church of England High School, Acton, said: "I think all children should be taught more about recycling in school. Now my friends and I know how important it is, we make sure our parents recycle from home every week."
