An e-fit of a man who assaulted a 16-year old-girl at last Sunday’s Mela festival at Gunnersbury Park has been released.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which left the victim missing a tooth, at 17:35 on Sunday, September 4.
The man approached the victim, who was accompanied by a family member, while she was dancing to headline act Jay Sean. It was ten minutes into his act.
The man attempted to get close to her while she danced. When she resisted, he is accused of punching her in the face three times.
The suspect then disappeared into the large crowd by the main stage and the victim was treated at the scene.
The suspect is described as light-skinned and Asian in appearance, approx 28-30-years-old and around 5ft 6in tall.
He is stocky with short, fluffy hair and a square-shaped face. He was wearing a grey/blue long-sleeved shirt, three-quarter length trousers and a black baseball cap, with a yellow underside, which fell off his head during the assault.
Det Sgt Martin Siertsema said: "”It is possible that recordings made on mobile devices may have picked up the event taking place."
Anyone with information is asked to call Hounslow CID on 020 82476160 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
