THE Chief Nursing Officer for England and Wales visited the newly rebuilt Central Middlesex Hospital in Park Royal.
Accompanied by the hospital's director of nursing, Elizabeth Robb, and deputy head of nursing for emergency directorate, Yvonne Slater, Chris Beasley met staff who had been involved in the move from the old site.
She heard about the changes in nursing practice that have been developed to support the new model of healthcare at the new hospital.
A spokeswoman for the NW London NHS Hospitals Trust, said the visit helped demonstrate how nursing has been fundamental in leading those changes.
Elizabeth Robb said: "Chris was impressed with the work that had been carried out to deliver better patient care.
"She met nursing staff at all levels.
"All agreed that it had been an interesting day and staff were happy for the opportunity to give their views to the most senior nurse in Britain."
