A "recluse" who barricaded himself into his house after his mother died has had the rubbish removed by council diggers.
Heavy machinery and teams of planning enforcement officers were out in force on Thursday to clean up the piles of debris outside number 33 Creighton Road, Ealing.
Owner Mark Raymond had fortified the house with dumped fridges, televisons, furniture and rubbish outside his front door at the end of his back garden.
Neighbour David Slater said: "It is an eyesore. It has been piling up for years and rats have been seen."
Ingrid Smith, team leader of Ealing Council Planning Enforcement Team, said she had no idea why Mr Raymond had behaved in such a way, but said they would be charging him for the work.
