TYRES on 13 cars were slashed by yobs last Wednesday in what police have called "mindless vandalism".

The incidents occurred in various addresses in Southall between 5pm on Wednesday and 7am on Thursday, September 28.

In total 15 tyres were slashed - nine front and six rear tyres - causing more than £1,300 worth of damage.

None of the vehicles were broken into and police said it appeared the sole intention of the suspects was "mindless vandalism".

The areas where the incidents took place are not covered by CCTV and police do not have any descriptions of the suspects.

Mercedes and Range Rovers were among the cars targeted in McNair Road, Havelock Road, Cookham Close, and Penard Road, Southall.

Ealing Police spokesman Chris Mullally said: "This was an extremely mindless and reckless act of vandalism which could have had tragic consequences should any of the victims have required their vehicle in an emergency.

"We would appeal to the local community to help us find those responsible."
