Harlequins were rewarded for their ambition according to scrum-half Danny Care after a dream start to Investec Champions Cup action.
Travelling to Paris to take on Top 14 leaders Racing 92, Quins produced some scintillating rugby on their way to a 31-28 victory, coming from behind with two tries in the final 20 minutes.
With five points from their opening fixture, Quins are in the perfect spot in the race for a place in the knockout stages, and will now turn their attentions to another French heavyweight, Toulouse.
And after picking up a win by attacking throughout against Racing, the expectation will be for more of the same against the current French champions.
“To get the five points, I think we deserved it,” said Care.
“Some of our lads put in big performances. To play in the Champions Cup, you've got to raise your level, especially against a team like Racing.
“Coming away from home, you've got to go and attack them to get the win. You can't sit back and hope.”
It was a brilliant display from Harlequins, up against a Racing side coached by Stuart Lancaster and featuring South Africa’s World Cup-winning skipper Siya Kolisi in a star-studded team.
But with Care and Marcus Smith pulling the strings, the latter notching a try, four conversions and a long-range drop goal, Harlequins were a constant threat with ball in hand.
And while Toulouse romped to five points of their own as they put up a half-century on Cardiff last week, Quins will be keen to build on a first impressive performance against French opposition.
