AN Ealing youth football team have enjoyed an undefeated season, winning their league and reaching the county cup final.
Brentham Colts were unbeaten in the Harrow Youth League U17 Premier Division. In 15 matches, they scored 75 goals and conceded six.
Coach Jeevan Johal said: “Every week I remind the boys to put in the work and they will reap the reward. This is what they have worked so hard for.”
The team are also through to the final of the Middlesex U18 County Cup.
No other team in the Colts’ history has reached a county final, let alone one in a higher age group.
In the final, to be held on Thursday, April 18, Brentham Colts face their local rivals Celtic U18s.
The players, many of whom have been with the team for 10 years, are hoping for a big crowd to watch them play at Northwood FC in the final..
Team manager Ian Bruley said: “If you said to me at the start of the season we would be league champions, win every game and get to the final of the U18s Middlesex cup, I would have said you must be dreaming.
“But it seems that, if you put in the hard work and believe in yourselves, dreams can come true.”
