BRENTFORD Football Club has received an accolade for its impressive work engaging with fans over the course of last season.
Now in its sixth year, the Fan Engagement Index provides an objective measurement of supporter engagement in English men’s football, benchmarked against other clubs.
Exeter City led the way with their sixth first-placed finish, with Carlisle United and Lincoln City joining them in winning a gold award.
Silver awards went to AFC Wimbledon, Norwich City, Cambridge United, Doncaster Rovers and Swansea City, while bronze was awarded to Portsmouth, Bristol Rovers, Brentford, Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion, Grimsby Town and Bristol City.
Brighton, Brentford and Everton were all recognised for their outstanding progress in engagement, which sets them apart from most of their rivals.
Kevin Rye, founder of Think Fan Engagement, said: “Brentford have done really well this year, which is pleasing to see, and shows how willing clubs are to adapt and improve their fan engagement and understand how important it is to nurture that relationship.”
