Mika Stojsavljevic became the first Brit to win the US Open girls’ title since Heather Watson 15 years ago as she triumphed at Flushing Meadows.
The 15-year-old began playing tennis at Ealing Lawn Tennis Club around the age of five, and a decade on has recorded the biggest win of her career.
Stojsavljevic dropped just two sets all week, beating top seed Emerson Jones from Australia and No.3 seed Iva Jovic of the States on her way to the final.
She then clinched the title by getting the better of Japan’s Wakana Sonobe 6-4 6-4 in the final.
"I'm super happy and super grateful," Stojsavljevic said.
"Thank you to my family for supporting me back home and thank you to the crowd here, you've been great."

By winning a junior Grand Slam, Stojsavljevic follows in the footsteps of Watson and Laura Robson – who won the junior Wimbledon title at 14.
Stojsavljevic cites Maria Sharapova, the five-time Grand Slam champion, as her tennis idol, while she beat Tamira Paszek, a two-time Wimbledon quarter-finalist, at senior level earlier this year in Nottingham.
Stojsavljevic was not the only British junior to perform well at Flushing Meadows, with Mimi Xu reaching the semi-finals before losing to Sonobe.
