Dexter Blackstock scored a late equaliser to spare Queens Park Rangers' blushes against Blackpool.

The R's dominated the visitors for large spells of the game but found themselves a goal down with just over ten minutes to go.

Tuesday night looked as though it may have been one of those games for Rangers until Blackstock grabbed his sixth of the season to set up a tense finish.

QPR brought fans' favourite Lee Cook back into the starting line-up in place of Akos Buzsaky and also picked Peter Ramage ahead of Matt Connolly.

The home side shot out of the blocks and had a number of chances to score through Blackstock, Cook and Martin Rowlands.

But it was Blackpool who grabbed the opener. Gary Taylor-Fletcher curled a fantastic free-kick in from 25-yards passed the diving Radek Cerny.

The R's again pounded the away side's goal but went in at the break behind.

QPR boss Iain Dowie took off young starlets Daniel Parejo and Emmanuel Ledesma at half-time and brought on the experienced Patrick Agyemang and Mikele Leigertwood to mix things up.

QPR continued to create chances but were not challenging Blackpool keeper Paul Rachubka.

But as a last throw of the dice Dowie introduced Buzsaky and it paid off.

The creative midfielder struck a wonderful free-kick which hit the bar and bounced down to Blackstock, who nodded the rebound into the empty net for his fifth league goal of the campaign.

They then went looking for the winner but the game ended in a draw.

Speaking after the game, Dowie said: "We just didn't get going enough. We could have been 2-0 up at half-time and then there would have been no talk about systems. It was an unsatisfactory result but I can't be unhappy with the way we played. I can't fault the desire."
