YOUNG defender Pat Kanyuka has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension with QPR.
The 19-year old who joined the club as a 16-year old in 2003 following his release from Leyton Orient has signed a deal that ties him to Loftus Road until the summer of 2008.
Kanyuka has been an unnamed substitute in all seven of Rangers' Championship fixtures this season and was pleased to commit his future to the club.
He said: "I'm absolutely delighted.
"It's great when you've got a manager who is willing to put his faith in the youngsters.
"Assistant manager Alan McDonald is a legend at QPR and to have him passing on his experience to me is just brilliant. He's helped me progress as a player with one-on-one training and is always on hand to give me advice.
"I love QPR and it would be great if I could cement a first team place here in the future."
