Thomas Frank heralded Brentford's 4-1 rout of Leicester City as the Bees' 'best performance this year' after coming from behind to take all three points at Gtech Community Stadium.

Yoane Wissa pulled one back for Brentford after Facundo Buonanotte gave the Foxes the lead in West London before Kevin Schade's hat-trick ensured the Bees emerged victorious.

And Frank could not hide his delight with his side's dominating performance, relishing in his side's relentless display across all areas of the pitch.

"It was a very good performance, probably our best performance this year overall," said Frank to club media. "I think we controlled and dominated that game from minute one to the end of the game. They got 1-0 up but we were just relentless. We kept the momentum and on top of that, we scored four top goals.

"This group of players has a top mentality, top character and top culture. That bounce-back mentality is something you need to have not just after a game you lose, but also in games."

Schade's treble against Leicester marked the German international's first career hat-trick and Frank lavished praise on the young forward for his clinical display.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Frank added: "Three goals and an assist. It's a dream number for any offensive player. I'm so happy for him because he is another young man that wants to do the best that he can to perform.

"He had the injury last season, started the season well, and now everything he hit today went in - very good finishes and a fantastic assist. I'm glad I picked him.

"I think I have some good challenges because I have a lot of good offensive players that want to play. We went very offensive today. We played with four wingers and strikers plus the number 10 in Mikkel Damsgaard but, because all of them play high up, they worked very hard."

The result against Leicester City leaves Brentford in eighth, three points behind the Champions League qualification places, with a midweek trip to Aston Villa next on their calendar.

Asked where Brentford can finish this season, Frank said: "As high as possible. We are very happy with the season so far, always thinking of what to improve.

"Even this game, there are things we could do better, but football is tough. We celebrate today and we go again in training tomorrow."
